FAMILY HISTORY INVITATION

Connect your living family to the generations who came before.

December's Family History Invitation helps you build your family tree by adding your living members and connecting to your first deceased ancestor.

This month's invitation is simple: Start with yourself, add your parents, then their parents, and keep going until you connect with your first deceased ancestor!

Three Easy Steps:

Start with Yourself

Sign in to FamilySearch and make sure your own information is in your family tree.

Add Your Living Family

Add your parents, then their parents. Keep working backward, asking relatives for missing information.

Connect to Your Ancestors

Find your first deceased ancestor and look for their existing record in FamilySearch.

Did you know? Information you enter about living family members in FamilySearch Family Tree is private to you. Keep working backward until you reach an ancestor who has passed away. Search for an existing record and connect to it when you're sure it's the right person.

Remember: Once you find and connect to an existing record for your first deceased ancestor, you may discover photographs, stories, historical records, and entire generations of ancestors that others have already added to FamilySearch. You don't have to start everything from scratch!

One small discovery. One eternal connection.
